Commend UK Intercom Solutions for Parking to be on Display at Parkex 2012

19.04.2012

(Stand P58) Commend UK, the Integrated Intercom solutions provider, will be launching the IS 300 – a compact and cost-effective IP Intercom Server – at Parkex 2012 over the 17th and 18th April at Olympia in London, in addition to exhibiting a range of Wireless Intercom, Public Address (PA) and software solutions for parking applications.

Part of the Intercom 2.0 portfolio, the IS 300 is an ideal solution for car parks as it uses Commend’s latest Intercom over IP (IoIP®) technology to deliver some of the highest speech quality available in the most challenging secure communications environments. High definition audio in 16 kHz allows clear and crisp announcements to be made over PA, while additional filters eliminate echoes so that the voice signal is heard without disruption or interference.

Greg Gregoriou, Managing Director of Commend UK, says that this server meets the needs of an important portion of the market: “The IS 300 may be small and compact, but it is incredibly powerful for its size, making it ideal for certain small and medium-sized IP systems. Furthermore, it enables installers to introduce small systems to their customers with a cost effective plan that allows for future expansion on the same platform.”

Commend will in addition be exhibiting the AF Series of amplifiers, which can interface seamlessly with any car park’s Commend Intercom solution where additional PA functionality is required, helping to avoid additional costs. The amplifiers can also be used to boost the volume of conversations in noisy locations and feature built-in connection monitoring that constantly verifies the connections between amplifiers, loudspeakers and the Intercom Server, ensuring uncompromising reliability.

Also on the stand will be Commend’s newly launched Wireless version of its proven Intercom technology, bringing a new level of flexibility to installers and car park operators alike. The Wireless technology is straightforward to install requiring only power and line of sight. It overcomes obstacles, such as paved surfaces or other restrictions encountered within challenging environments, without any need for hard-wired data cabling.

Greg explains that it expands the capabilities of traditional Intercom systems: “The Wireless Intercom can help to save money on projects that would normally require costly civil works. If, for example, a car park operator wants to add an Intercom station at a car park barrier, they can simply add a Wireless unit, making implementation fast and cost-effective.”

Furthermore, Commend will demonstrate how its ComWIN Visualisation Software can offer full control and a clear overview of any situation. ComWIN is a control desk software application that interfaces with all Intercom outputs, such as gates, doors, heating, lighting, etc, and supports the integration of third-party devices into its visualisation environment. Automatic audio and video switching provides instant on-site feedback for operators in emergencies, enabling a faster and more accurate assessment of the situation.

Greg anticipates that Parkex 2012 will provide an ideal opportunity to show the extensive benefits that these and other Commend products can offer car park operators: “Commend has a whole range of reliable and cost-effective solutions to offer the parking industry and we look forward to exhibiting them at Parkex this year.”
